Intracellular Transport

Using Spatial Light Interference Microscopy, we retrieved high-sensitivity quantitative phase images of cellular structures. The Laplace transform of these images enhances the presence of particles (vesicles, organelles) within cells, which facilitates their tracking. From the displacements of these intrinsic probes, we retrieved detailed information regarding the transport, including their diffusion coefficient. This research is in collaboration with Prof. Martha Gillette’s group.
